The procedure for granting individual permits of the National Bank of Ukraine to conduct currency operations upon receipt of requests from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was updated
The changes were made by the Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine dated April 19, 2024 No. 46 "On Amendments to the Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 18 dated February 24, 2022", which entered into force on April 20, 2024.
If earlier the appeals of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine were the key reason for the National Bank to adopt a separate decision on granting permission to carry out a currency transaction, then from now on the National Bank may focus on its own analysis of the possible consequences of such decisions.
According to the text of this resolution, when granting individual permits for currency transactions, the National Bank must take into account whether this permit (decision) does not prevent the achievement and maintenance of price stability in the state, macro-financial stability during the period of martial law, or whether this decision is consistent with the strategy of easing of currency restrictions, transition to greater exchange rate flexibility, and other requirements.
