Cancellation of customs duties and VAT on the import of generators
In the second reading the Verkhovna Rada supported draft laws No. 8196 and No. 8197 aimed at restoring the energy infrastructure of Ukraine.
These draft laws provide for a number of innovations, which in particular relate to the rules for importing energy and communication equipment to the territory of Ukraine.
Customs duties and VAT on the import of generators, other equipment, Starlink, etc. will be cancelled till May 2023, including for individuals. This exemption will also apply to postal and express shipments.
Energy Community, an international organization that provides technical assistance in the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, will also be completely exempt from taxation on the import of equipment.
In addition, the draft laws provide for the possibility of storing up to 2,000 liters of fuel without a license. Storage volumes exceeding 2,000 liters must be reported to the tax office on a declarative basis.
