An American company is set to assist Ukraine in the modernization of border checkpoints, while the United Kingdom will finance the reconstruction of six bridges in the Kyiv region

DAI Global LLC has signed a subcontract with engineering company Miyamoto International to enhance the transport and logistics infrastructure and modernize the automotive border crossing points in Ukraine. Miyamoto International Ukraine is a partner of the Recovery Agency, with 128 engineering professionals working in its Ukrainian office.

Under the signed subcontract, Miyamoto Ukraine will conduct a physical-economic and technical-economic justification, prepare preliminary documentation for designing new cargo terminals at border crossings, and provide post-project services at nine priority border crossings to be improved under the USAID project.

Simultaneously, the UK government's Export Credit Guarantee Department is guaranteeing a €31 million credit for the reconstruction of six bridges destroyed by Russia. British manufacturing companies will supply 20% of the metal structures.

Work is currently underway on three bridges, and they are expected to be open to traffic by the end of 2023. Construction on the remaining three projects will commence in 2024.
